Community Involvement

    

A major part of our effort at the Mission is involvement in the Houston community. So many times our residents are on the receiving end of donations and gifts, we believe it’s important to ‘give back’ to the community whenever we can.

But Open Door Mission residents offer support to the community in many other ways. Overall, we’ve donated over thousands of man hours, not counting hurricane relief, to community organizations. Some of the organizations we support on a consistent basis:

• End Hunger Network
• Community Family Center
• KSBJ-FM
• Interfaith Ministries
• Many local churches
