The Doorkeepers Launched

The Doorkeepers, a new Houston non-profit organization, held its inaugural event Wednesday, June 13. The Doorkeepers is an all-volunteer organization committed to supporting the purpose and programs of Open Door Mission, a recovery and rehabilitation shelter for homeless and destitute men.

Launching the new organization were Doorkeepers President, Charles Goodwin, and Event Chairs, Dan and Susan Boggio. Also on hand were Vice Presidents, Charlotte Hill and Rowena Randle, and Membership Chair, Anna Dean.

The Doorkeepers trustees, also helping welcome guests and generate interest in the new organization, were trustees Sam Abraham, Thomas Au, Theresa Behenna, Donatella Benckenstein, Shirley Cheesman, Mary Wade Coale, Ann Craft, Richard Rorschach, Jerry Rucker and Carol Sawyer.

Among the guests attending were Houston City Council Member, Peter Brown, William and Joan Crassas, and David and Mary Ann McKiethan.

Gene and Astrid Van Dyke graciously hosted the event at their beautiful River Oaks home and pavilion.
