Saving
men's lives in the name of Jesus Christ
Chapel
services at Open Door Mission are held daily and
attendance is
highly encouraged.
Chapel
services are conducted by different congregations
embracing the Christian faith. This enables the
Mission to meet the individual spiritual
needs of the
214 men
that
attend
daily Chapel services in Spanish or English.
Open
Door Mission's Chapel services reflect the diversity
of the Christian
experience, yet the
central
truth
always remains that a new life can be found in Jesus
Christ.
Each
service includes prayer, praise and worship, the
proclamation of the
Gospel, and an altar call. Those responding to the
call receive additional prayer and counseling as
requested.
All
men at the Mission are encouraged to
join a church. Many choose
to attend Sunday services at one of the churches
which support the Mission.
More
than 100 different congregations of Christian faiths
unite in
supporting Open Door Mission's faith based
rehabilitation and education
programs. These programs offer spiritual guidance
and provide men with educational and occupational
training which help break the cycle of
homelessness.
