WHAT WE OFFER AT
OPEN DOOR MISSION

Open Door Mission is a faith and evidence-based recovery program and facility helping homeless and addicted men in Houston TX since 1954. We offer free drug rehab programs with individualized care, counseling, and support to help each client overcome addiction and transform his life. Doorway Recovery is a 4-5 month residential rehabilitation program, and we work with each client to create a personalized treatment plan that meets his specific needs. We offer group therapy, individual counseling, life skills training, and relapse prevention strategies to help our clients maintain their sobriety and successfully reintegrate into their communities. Let us help you on your journey to recovery.

 TRANSITIONAL LIVING

At Open Door Mission, we believe in helping men learn to become independent and successful. After graduating the program, men have an option to enter our transition program for up to six months. Men in transition are able to work while living in transition and slowly get used to their new life.

 FAMILY SUPPORT

Addiction affects not only the individual struggling with substance abuse, but also their loved ones. At Open Door Mission, we offer family support groups and visitation once a month to help families heal and rebuild relationships that may have been damaged by addiction. Our support groups help families understand addiction and learn how to support their loved ones throughout the recovery process.

 MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES

At Open Door Mission, we understand that addiction often co-occurs with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and trauma. That's why we offer comprehensive mental health services as part of our drug rehab programs. We partner with UTHealth Houston, The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD, and Harris Health System to provide therapy and medication management.
